Zubadan technology: Full capacity at -15°C

What’s so impressive about Mitsubishi Electric’s Zubadan technology is that it makes its new heat pump systems practically unbeatable. No other air-to-water heat pump is as efficient even on cold winter days. Monovalent operation is even possible at low sub-zero temperatures, i.e. down to -15°C. Depending on the design, it is possible to dispense with an electric immersion heater altogether.

Thanks to the system’s extended temperature range down to -25°C and accelerated defrosting, operational reliability and capacity are particularly high. For instance, defrosting is 50% faster than in to conventional air-to-water heat pumps, and the period of operation between defrosting cycles has been extended to up to 180 minutes.


Flow temperatures up to 60°C

Thanks to high flow temperatures of up to 60°C, the heat pumps are also ideal for heating drinking water – and entirely without expensive supplementary heating with an electrical immersion heater.

Selectable super-quiet mode

The PUHZ-W and PUHZ-HW compact heat pumps have a selectable super-quiet mode, which can be flexibly adjusted. For instance, the maximum noise level can be adapted to local requirements. In densely built-up, noise-sensitive residential areas, for example, operating noise can be reduced by up to 10 dB(A).

When operated at night, the setting of a low noise level makes sense, although it can be flexibly adjusted for continuous operation as well. However, bear in mind that heating capacity is reduced in super-quiet mode, a fact that has to be considered at the design stage.

The unique Zubadan refrigerant circuit

The Zubadan refrigerant circuit with an HIC supercooler and flash injection compressor can keep the refrigerant mass flow stable even at low outdoor temperatures. Excessively high hot gas temperatures are also prevented. This ensures high heat capacity over the entire temperature range.
