Connection to air curtain systems
The power inverter outdoor units and the Zubadan heat pumps can be used for operating air curtain systems. To this end, the external air curtain system communicates via a new interface from Mitsubishi Electric with the inverter outdoor units.
Such a series-mature complete solution can consist, for example, of a PHV2000DXE air curtain and the PUHZ-RP air-to-air heat pump. Compared to conventional water heating for air curtains, the heat pump achieves better rates of efficiency. To this end, the air-to-air heat pump exploits the heat energy stored in the ambient air. In this way, only 1 kilowatt (kW) of electricity from the power grid is required to extract up to 4 kW of heating capacity. In view of the upward surge in the price of fossil fuels, changing over to the heat pump represents an intelligent and progressive alternative.

Sample calculation
The huge potential for savings associated with the new solution is illustrated by the following sample calculation. Given wintery outdoor temperatures of 6°C, the indoor temperature of a shop is to be kept at 20°C. The entrance is two metres wide and 2.5 metres high. Assuming the usual opening hours, the shop is open 60 hours per week. The result: The oil heating bill for this shop without an air curtain would come to about 5,118 euros. If a PHV2000DXE air curtain were used in combination with a PUHZ-RP heat pump, the energy consumption could be reduced to only 430 euros. The investment would pay for itself in next to no time. On top of this, a reduction in the CO2 output benefits the environment as well.
